Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Is it the Ace of Spades or the Queen of Hearts? Spend an evening with the family and prepare to be dazzled, participate in the show, and laugh your head off as Magic Mark Alan performs at the Mainstreet Theatre in Michigan City at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24.

Alan said he has been enamored with magic since he was a young child and has been performing ever since.

“I’ve been doing magic for 38 years, and it will be my first time at the Mainstreet Theatre. I started doing magic when I was a small child and my neighbor took me to a magic shop. I learned how to do a magic trick and I was hooked,” Alan said.

Audiences who attend the Magic Mark Alan show will experience plenty of illusion that will boggle the mind, but Alan said he also likes to interact with his guests.

He said, “I love to do things with audience members and get them involved. It’s more of a stand-up show with tons of audience participation, card magic, rope magic, comedy and an escape, hopefully, at the end of the show. It will be a lot of fun.”

The performance runs just over one hour and is good for all ages.

Alan jokes, “There won’t be any fire so it’s safe for everyone!”

Although Alan is originally from LaPorte and now resides in Michigan City, his work is known far beyond the region.

“I’ve traveled all around the Midwest and I’ve done headline performances at magic conventions. I’ve also been on WGN-TV and on cable. Over the years I got to meet Doug Henning and other magicians, and it just becomes like a big family,” Alan said.
