A masked man was caught on surveillance video stealing more than $10,000 worth of stereo equipment and electronics from an Aurora business on Friday, Aurora police said.
According to Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli, a surveillance camera at Gorilla Sound, 800 block of North Lake Street, captured footage of a masked man removing several stereos from a glass display case and putting them into a black garbage bag he was carrying.
Ferrelli said the man forced his way into the locked building after the store was closed.
Damage to the building and the loss of the electronics is set at $13,300, Ferrelli said.
The suspect was described as a masked, heavy-set man wearing sweat pants, a hooded sweatshirt and gloves.
Ferrelli said the incident appears to have occurred at 4:45 a.m., but that could not be confirmed, as the store’s owner was not sure if the time stamp on the surveillance system was correct.
