The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate a fatal crash that killed a man on Interstate 88 near Route 31 in North Aurora Wednesday morning.
Illinois State Police Sgt. Nathan Anderson said the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 88 near Route 31.
According to Anderson, a Jeep and a Toyota were both traveling westbound when they collided. Details about the crash have not been released, but Anderson said the Jeep’s male driver was ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity has not been released.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured, Anderson said.

Anderson said two westbound lanes were closed for several hours while investigators reconstructed the crash.
