An armed man robbed an Aurora restaurant Sunday night after threatening a store clerk with a handgun, Aurora police said.

According to Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli, a 32-year-old woman was working at the Subway restaurant on the 1100 block of North Farnsworth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. when a man came in to order a sandwich.

Ferrelli said when the man went to pay for his meal, he pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk told police she handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the man before he left the restaurant. He was last seen running northbound after exiting through the restaurant’s front door.

The robber was described as a Hispanic man, between the ages of 25 and 30. He was around 5-foot-6, 140 pounds and had black hair and a beard, Ferrelli said.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and had a white and black bandanna around his neck.

Anyone with information should contact Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500.
