The Colony Palm Beach has completed a $4 million renovation of its Pavilion ballroom, three penthouses and seven two-bedroom villas, the landmark hotel announced Monday.
The Pavilion ballroom, situated in an adjacent building, now has a porte-cochere entranceway, a new ceiling, new carpeting, chandeliers and custom-designed wall covering.
The ballroom also has a new computerized sound and lighting system.
The summer overhaul of its meeting space and accommodations marked the final phase of a multiyear property “re-imagining” spearheaded by interior designer Carleton Varney, president of Dorothy Draper & Co.
In September 2014, the Colony, 155 Hammon Ave., closed its doors for the first time in 40 years for several weeks to undergo a $10 million makeover of its rooms, restaurants and lobby.
The upgrades to guest rooms and suites included new color schemes and floral patterns and new bed linens, and the addition of high-tech amenities such as smart TVs and Bluetooth-enabled telephones with built-in chargers.
