The numbers crunchers have to love this weekend of football.
There were crazy streaks on the line Friday night, and another on the line as the weekend continues.
*On Saturday afternoon, Waukegan will host Niles West and try to end a 21-game losing streak against Central Suburban South opponents.
The Bulldogs are 0-2 in the league this year, went 0-5 in the strike-marred 2014 season, 0-5 in 2013, 0-5 in 2012, and lost their last four league games in 2011 after beating Niles West 27-14.
In that 2011 win, Maurice Childs had two touchdown runs for Waukegan, Reggie Richter threw a TD pass to Kyle Williams, and Quintin Davis had a pick-six.
Ironically, after the win, then-coach Nick Browder sounded like a visionary when he made this observation about the CSL South: “Our conference is a very competitive conference, so the wins are going to be tough to come by.”
*Grayslake Central took a 16-game losing streak into Friday night’s game against Woodstock North.
The Rams’ last win was Oct. 19, 2013, and it was against Woodstock North.
The Rams play nine games this fall, and going into this weekend, only one of the nine teams on its schedule had a losing record.

*Lakes’ 25-game winning streak in the North Suburban Prairie was on the line when the Eagles played at Vernon Hills on Friday night.
This was the final conference meeting between the teams, as Vernon Hills is joining the Central Suburban North next year and Lakes will play in the North Lake County Conference.
