Gala raises $700,000 for Humanities Festival

The 2015 Chicago Humanities Festival “Citizens,” kicked off with a gala on Sept. 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Investments, interviewed Walter Isaacson, biographer and president/CEO Aspen Institute before 390 guests gathered to support CHF’s mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy and explore the humanities.

This year’s festival focuses on issues from today’s headlines, ranging from race relations and immigration to marriage equality. The gala raised more than $700,000 for CHF’s education and outreach initiatives. The festival runs Oct. 24-Nov. 8 at numerous venues. See more at chicagohumanities.org
