Want to know more about Marian Hossa?

There were so many details about him, we simply couldn’t pack it all into one story.

Here are six more reasons why Hoss is the boss:

1. He loves pierogies. He’s got a freezer full of them at home. And he has a pierogi company with his cousin. He ate pierogies out of the Stanley Cup, a tradition he has continued since winning it with the Hawks in 2010.

2. He knows how crushing it is to come so close to the Cup and lose and how awesome it is to win. “I think what I went through, I enjoyed it so much more – the winning … Maybe the young guys coming in the first year and winning it right away think it’s going to happen again and again and it’s not. That’s not the deal. You really have to deserve it.”

3. He’s a family man. He said his daughters Mia and Zoja have brought so much joy to his life. You might catch him with his wife pushing the stroller around Millennium Park on a nice day.

4. He traded his hockey cards. As a kid in Slovakia, he traded them for a videotape of Wayne Gretzky highlights. “I was amazed and I said one day I want to play in this league.”

5. He reached a career milestone. He scored his 1,000th point last October in a win over the Ottawa Senators, the team that drafted him in 1997.

6. There’s even a tribute song for him. Well, Slovakian entertainer Peter Marcin in February posted a video singing a parody to the Kink’s “Lola” song in which he changed the words to honor Hooo-sa.
