The Maine South football team overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter on Friday, Oct. 2, to beat Glenbrook South 34-31 in overtime. With the comeback win in Park Ridge, the Hawks extended their Central Suburban South winning streak to 72 games.
After the Titans (3-3, 1-1) got a 27-yard field goal from Henry Tarbox in overtime, Maine South sophomore Fotis Kokosioulis scored on a 2-yard run on second down to avoid the upset bid.
Quarterback Brian Collis led the comeback effort for Maine South (4-2, 2-0), going 11-for-21 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Glenbrook South’s Ryan Janczak finished with 31 carries for 165 yards and one touchdown.
