Happy National Coffee Day, people. If you’re anything like us, it’s a holiday you celebrate most days of the week. Whether you’re a French press fanatic or the Starbucks-a-day type, caffeine deserves to be honored. Really, it’s the least we can do. We rounded up the best freebies and specials—both local and national—so you can celebrate accordingly.

Beatrix (519 N. Clark St.): $2 nitro coffee all day, or upgrade to new fall favorites caramel cream or pumpkin cream nitro for $1 more. Plus, bring in your National Coffee Day receipt Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and recieve $1 off any coffee beverage.

Cafe Con Leche (2714 N. Milwaukee Ave.): $3.50 signature cafe con leche all morning.

C.C. Ferns (2806 W. Augusta Blvd.): Try the new pumpkin caramel latte ($4-$5) with housemade pumpkin spice syrup, a shot of espresso, your choice of milk and cinnamon.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse (300 N. LaSalle St.): Free cup of Sparrow Coffee Roastery coffee with purchase of a breakfast entree from 7-11 a.m.

Cochon Volant (100 W. Monroe St.): The restaurant’s bakery will offer free cups of coffee from 6:30-9 a.m.

Dunkin’ Donuts (all locations): One free hot or iced medium dark roast, no purchase necessary.

Eight O’Clock Coffee (online): Log on to eightoclock.com to request a free sample of the company’s newest treat, Coffee Thins, made with real coffee beans.

Heritage Bicycles (2959 N. Lincoln Ave.): Free extra shot of espresso in any drink and free coffee with bike purchase.

Hero Coffee Bar (439 S. Dearborn Ave. and 2111 W. Roscoe St.): Try the smoked coffee collaboration with Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse or a cold brew pumpkin nitro coffee. Mention RedEye for half-price pour overs.

McDonalds: Participating stores will offer one free small coffee.

Peet’s (all locations): Free small cup of Peet’s Major Dickason’s blend with purchase of a baked good, oatmeal or fresh food item.

Stan’s Donuts (1560 N. Damen Ave.): Exclusive to the Wicker Park location, get one free glazed doughnut with every purchase of Stumptown nitro cold brew coffee.

Starbucks (all locations): No freebies here, but the coffee empire is launching the Starbucks One Bag for Every Tree Commitment today. Every time you buy a bag of coffee at a Starbucks store, a tree will be planted in a community that needs one.

Whole Foods (all locations): Through the end of the month, pick up a 12-ounce cup of coffee for 25 cents. Plus, the grocery chain donates $1 to the Whole Planet Foundation with every purchase.
