Wilmette Deputy Police Chief Kyle Murphy said Sept. 22 that police had arrested Tariq Mahmood Rashid, 48, of the 2900 block of Greenleaf Avenue, on Sept. 19, after a 47-year-old Northbrook woman came to the Wilmette police station Sept. 18 to report an assault.
Rashid appeared in weekend bond court on Sept. 20 and was released on a $10,000 bond, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. He was scheduled to appear Sept. 23 in Cook County Court in Skokie for a preliminary hearing, a spokesman for the office said.
Rashid did not reply to attempts to seek comment.
Police said the woman who made the report told investigators that she asked Rashid to drive her to her Northbrook home from a party in Chicago because she had been drinking.
Police said the woman reportedly passed out and woke up to find Rashid having sex with her.
