Sign-up and drawing: September is when GAPL joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to connect people to their home libraries. During the month, anyone who signs up for a GAPL library card for the first time will be entered into a drawing. At the end of the month, prizes will be awarded in three categories: adults, teens, and children. To get a library card for the first time you will need to bring in two forms of ID that have both your name and address to verify residency, and a photo ID. If you have a valid driver’s license with your current address then you will only need one more piece of ID with your address such as a checkbook, utility bill, or piece of mail. Children under age 14 must be present and accompanied by a parent/legal guardian at time of sign up.
