North Coast Music Festival is approaching quickly (it starts tomorrow, actually) and we’re so excited to take in some of the finest acts in indie, rap, jam, EDM and, of course, D’Angelo and the Vanguard. While I’ve already talked about all the Chicago acts playing the three-day weekend, I feel like I didn’t talk nearly enough about about local rap duo Leather Corduroys, arguably the most hard-hitting and party-minded act on Savemoney’s roster.
After releasing its debut full-length in “Season,” which is one of the best Chicago albums of the year, the group featuring Joey Purp and Kami is back with a new, Two Fresh-produced single “We Don’t Know How To Stop.”
Two Fresh is no stranger to Leather Corduroys, as he’s produced tracks like Towkio’s “God In Me” and “Gettin Throwed,” which featured Purp. On this new single, it’s easy to tell why the three keep working together—its Drake-channeling beat is more than a proper backdrop for Purp and Kami’s increasingly-syrupy flows.
Look out for Leather Corduroys. With this track, “Season” as well as Purp’s excellent verse on the “Surf” highlight “Go,” these two can only go up from here. Listen below.
