Landor, one of the world’s premier branding and design firms, has announced the appointment of John Gass as general manager of its Chicago office, effective immediately. He will report to Mary Zalla, global president of consumer brands and managing director of the Cincinnati and Chicago offices.
Gass comes to Landor with more than 20 years of experience as a brand steward. He most recently served as global account director at Interbrand, where he spent the past six years leading the brand strategy and identity initiatives across all Wrigley global brands-5, Juicy Fruit, Skittles, Doublemint, and Orbit-while heading teams in Cincinnati, Shanghai, Guangzhou, London, and New York. Prior to that, he worked for Ogilvy and JWT on several key accounts, including Kraft, BP, and Unilever. His achievements have earned him four Effie awards and several agency awards for best global collaboration.
“John’s client orientation and proven expertise in strategic brand leadership and design will serve us well in Chicago,” said Zalla. “I know John will prove an inspiration to our clients as well as to our talented and dedicated employees.”
“The prospect of joining a legendary branding organization like Landor, in a city home to many of the world’s best-loved brands, proved irresistible to me,” said Gass. “I am thrilled to be joining a team that has built rock-solid relationships with long-standing clients and continues to provide the thinking and ideas that deliver brand growth every day across the globe.”
