Four men have been charged in the wild shooting spree early Sunday at a house party in Matteson in which no one was wounded but that led to a three-hour standoff with police.

Brandon Phillips, 23, of Calumet City; Shawn Johnson, 24, of Chicago; Adam Miller, 25, of Matteson; and Adam Talley, 22, of Hazel Crest, are charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a felony.

Bail was set at $100,000 for Phillips and Talley and $250,000 for Miller, while Johnson is being held without bail, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, which operates the county jail.

More felony charges could be filed in connection with the incident, police said.

They said detectives spent days sorting out what happened at the rental property in the 900 block of Princeton Avenue. Officers initially arrested dozens of partygoers who had refused to leave the house during the standoff, before releasing all but seven people on Tuesday.

Forty citations were issued for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and obstructing justice, police reported, and three tenants of the house were ticketed for “social hosting,” a violation for hosting a party where alcohol is served to minors. The tenants are Juan Lopez, Behanzin Sykes and Jerrell Blake, according to police.

They said one of the four guns used in the shooting and confiscated by police was reported stolen in July from a Lake Station, Ind., home, and one of the four men who was charged with the gun offense admitted to stealing the gun while delivering furniture. Police did not identify that man on Tuesday.

Police were called to the house about 3 a.m., after dozens of shots were fired when a heated argument at the party turned violent, police reported. They said officers recovered 30 to 40 spent shell casings near the house.

After police arrived, many in the house refused to leave, and the standoff began. When negotiations failed, the South Suburban Emergency Response Team broke down the front door, and no officers were hurt in making the arrests, police said.
