Starting Wednesday night, the inbound Kennedy Ramp to inbound Congress Parkway will be closed and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday. The closure is in advance of this weekend’s closures and detours for construction of a new 5,200-foot-long-flyover ramp that will connect Interstate 90/94 northbound to Interstate 290 westbound. Additional closures and detours are expected through mid-October, or beyond depending on weather conditions.
Closings
WEEKENDS OF AUG. 21-23 AND AUG. 28-30
- I-290 (Eisenhower): Both eastbound and westbound lanes closed (10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday).
- I-90/94 (Ryan and Kennedy): Both directions between Ohio Street and 18th Street will be reduced to one lane overnight (8 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday). The southeast ramp will also be closed for the weekend. All lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. Sunday.
WEEKENDS OF SEPT. 25-27 AND OCT. 16-18
- I-290: Westbound (10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday).
- I-90/94: Southbound Kennedy will be down to one lane. (8 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday).
During all four weekends: All traffic will be stopped for multiple 15-minute periods when the steel girders are swung into place during lane closings on I-90/94.
NOTE: Depending on weather conditions the construction may carry into the weekends of Oct. 23-25, Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 13-15.
