Outgoing University of Illinois Chancellor Phyllis Wise’s annual salary was $549,069. She could have received a $500,000 “retention bonus” had she remained at the university. She was in line to receive $400,000 as part of her resignation agreement before her resignation was initially rejected by the board. Wow! How can one get a job like this?
