No area team suffered more disappointment last season than the Huskies, which tied for third at the Class AA Conant Sectional, then lost a tiebreaker to Wheaton Warrenville South for a berth to the state meet.
Top golfer Amanda Youman is back and coach Peter Hostrowser hopes to receive a boost from the return of juniors Kathie Latham and Paige Mosher.
“We lost six seniors last year, but we are deep enough with varsity experience to compete in the WSC again this year,” Hostrowser said. “We look to finish top one or two. We have won three regional titles in three years. Our goal this year is to get the team to the state competition.”
Newcomers for the Huskies include senior Anne McClanahan and juniors Renee Gagliardo, Megan Sullivan, Isabel Picciotti, Kate Schultz and Clare Zeller.
