Coach Doug Brown will not know how extensively his returnees played in the offseason until tryouts begin Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Seniors Teddy Economos, Tyler Swanson, Kyle Warbinton and Joe Werner return to the Huskies, which placed third at last year’s 3A Notre Dame Regional and eighth at the New Trier Sectional. None of them was listed in the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s player of the year rankings, so Brown is hoping they played on other tours this summer.
Brown said he knew one of his players competed in Texas where a parent lives.
“I’m hoping they had a great summer of play,” Brown said. “That helps; it’s huge. We could have a decent summer, but I’ll find out more on Wednesday (at tryouts).”
Of the four returnees, Brown said he expects Economos and Warbinton to become regulars at the top of his tournament lineup.
