An 80-year-old Waukegan man who disappeared Sunday night while running an errand in Gurnee has been found unharmed in the western suburbs, according to Waukegan police.
Waukegan Cmdr. Joe Florip said Randall Hutchinson had been found parked and that he was “safe and sound.” His family was picking him up, Florip said.
Hutchinson’s family had reported him missing at 8:13 p.m. Sunday. His family told police he was on his way to Battery Giant, located at 5338 Grand Ave. in Gurnee. A short time after he left, the Illinois Tollway Authority was able to confirm that Hutchinson exited Interstate-294 at the Willow Road Toll Plaza, according to a statement from Waukegan police.
