Congratulations, thank you so much, we could not have done this without you, you’ve meant so much to the oran-i-zation, you’ve represented the Blackhawks so well.
Now get your things and get out.
No sooner than a week after celebrating with the city of Chicago, the Blackhawks have to start shedding.
Early on, it looks like Patrick Sharp and Bryan Bickell are the early favorites to depart.
Teams will of course covet Sharp, plus, you know, as a bonus, you get all those rumors along with him.
I can live with Bickell leaving; I always disagreed with that spelling of his first name.
Oh, I’m sure others will go. This has an eerie 2010 feel to it, lots of guys gone. It makes me cry for Dustin Byfuglien and the other casualties of that first title.
But we move on. You know, I can think of some other people who need to move on.
I mean, no sense waiting for a title before unloading.
Oh, I’m looking at you, White Sox.
No team should be more grateful for the Blackhawks’ run than these guys. The Stanley Cup kept our attention diverted. Now that I’ve looked, I can’t believe it.
Oh, they’re hideous. Adam Eaton, your terrible fielding gets overshadowed by awful base running and hideous hitting. You’re truly a triple threat—to your own team.
As if things couldn’t get worse, Jose Abreu has had some sort of “coming back to earth” sophomore season. Uh oh, I’m afraid he’s merely good now.

You want to like Robin Ventura, want this to work so bad for him, and you know that it just isn’t.
I felt that way about Marc Trestman, just so you know.
Please, Mr. Reinsdorf, take Rocky Wirtz out for some drinks. Pick his brain a bit. Find out what he did.
Here’s a hint: He hired people from OUTSIDE his organization. It wasn’t just about loyalty. Loyalty was more for his dad, Bill.
Anyone remember him? Didn’t think so.
Need another example? The Cubs. Tore down and rebuilt, all by outsiders.
It pays to not be from here.
It pains me to say that.
