Aurora police are questioning five people, including two 14-year-olds, following a Tuesday night shooting on Grand Boulevard in Aurora.

The shooting occurred around 5:08 p.m. in the 1100 block of Grand Boulevard where police were called for reports of shots fired.

Witnesses said that two men were seen getting into a vehicle that fled the scene. No one and nothing appeared to have been struck, police said.

Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said that shortly after the shooting, a vehicle matching a witness description was spotted driving in the 900 block of Zeigler Avenue.

When a patrol officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, five people inside began to run from the scene, Ferrelli said. They were each taken into custody a short time later.

The males — two 14-year-olds, and three who were 17, 18, and 21 — were all taken into custody for questioning.

Ferrelli said that one of the 14-year-olds had unrelated outstanding warrants and was taken to a youth home.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
