Following its recent tradition, Elgin School District U46 will hold graduation ceremonies for all five of its high schools Saturday, May 23 in the same place, the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.
The advantage is that this allows all the schools to use a large space with plenty of seating and that school officials can attend all five ceremonies. The disadvantage is that to fit in all five, one has to be held as early as 8 in the morning and one as late as 8 o’clock at night.
This year South Elgin High School will begin the parade with a commencement at 8 a.m. That will be followed by Elgin High at 11 a.m., Bartlett High at 2 p.m., Larkin High at 5 p.m. and finally Streamwood High at 8 p.m.
The Sears Centre Arena is at 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates, near where Route 72 crosses I-90. For directions to it, see http://www.searscentre.com
