A knife-wielding man posing as a customer robbed a Lincoln Park clothing store earlier this week.

The robbery happened about 1:30 p.m. May 13 at Londo Mondo, in the 2100 block of North Halsted Street.

Police said a man entered the store and asked to buy an item. When a store clerk opened the cash register, the man took out a knife and took cash before fleeing the store.

Police said the man was between 30 and 35 years-old but did not provide a more accurate description of the robber.

Wednesday’s robbery comes almost exactly a week after a man robbed a Bucktown boutique at knife-point. In that robbery, a store clerk was cut on her hand and was hospitalized for her injuries. The robber, who was a man of roughly the same age, also posed as a customer before announcing a robbery and taking cash.

Police would not immediately say if the robberies were committed by the same person, but an employee of Londo Mondo told WGNtv that workers at both stores believe the robberies are related after speaking with each other.
