ABC and ESPN are winning big with the Bulls-Cavaliers series.

Sunday’s Game 4 on ABC did a 5.5 national rating, the highest for the NBA playoffs thus far; 1 national point is worth more than 1 million homes. The Cavaliers’ 86-84 victory, decided by a LeBron James buzzer-beater, also was the highest rating for a non-NBA Finals game on ABC since Game 1 of last year’s East Conference finals between Miami and Indiana, which did a 5.8 rating.

Friday, ESPN did a strong 4.3 national rating for Derrick Rose’s game-winner at the buzzer that gave the Bulls a 99-96 victory in Game 3.

Chicago viewers did their part to boost the national numbers. Sunday’s game did a 17.7 rating on WLS-7; 1 local ratings point is worth nearly 35,000 homes. The game peaked with a 24.3 rating. Friday’s game did a 14.3 rating in Chicago.

TNT gets its chance to cash in Tuesday, as it will air Game 5 in Cleveland.
