School bus hits garbage truck in Evanston; no injuries reported

An Evanston-Skokie School District 65 school bus carrying four students struck a garbage truck Thursday morning in Evanston, police said. No one was injured.

The crash occurred about 8:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of Church Street, according to Evanston police.

Police spokesman Perry Polinski said the bus was en route to Oakton Elementary School when it pulled away from a curb and made contact with the garbage truck. Both vehicles were drivable and continued on their routes, Polinski said.
