Three officers worked together to get Lakesha Mosley under control after she had punched and struggled with Patrolman April Brown early Monday, court records state.

Mosley, 23, of 660 Maryland St., was charged Tuesday with four felonies – two counts each battery against a public safety official and resisting law enforcement – stemming from the incident.

Brown, 32, a Gary officer since 2011, suffered a one-inch cut over her left eye from the punch, the probable cause affidavit states.

A Glen Park man called police to report a broken window at his home, which he believed Mosley caused, the affidavit states. As he spoke with Brown, he saw Mosley drive past with her headlights out. Brown tried to pull in front of Mosley, who drove across a lawn and kept going, the affidavit states.

About one block from the man’s home, Mosley stopped, Brown stopped and the man also arrived. When Mosley saw him, she became angry, refused to open her window as Brown asked, and when she finally complied, Brown ordered her out of the car, the affidavit states. Mosley shouted at the man that he had set her up and told Brown, “Let me go! Don’t put your hands on me,” as Brown tried to handcuff her, the affidavit states.

The man told Detective Robin Bolde, “Brown tried to grab Mosley again at which point Mosley struck Officer Brown in her left eye with her fist, stunning Officer Brown,” the affidavit states. The man then tried to wedge himself between the two women, then additional police arrived “and it took three officers to subdue Mosley,” the affidavit states.

Mosley is being held at the Lake County Jail on $30,000 bail.
