Abby’s Breakfast and Lunch, a family-friendly restaurant is now open in St. Charles, bringing breakfast back to the downtown area. “There hasn’t been a breakfast place downtown for 15 or 20 years,” says Abby’s co-owner Rob Mondi.
Mondi, who grew up in St. Charles, has partnered with Matt McCoy and head chef Abby Mejia to create a unique breakfast and lunch eatery. The trio met 10 years ago while working together at a Naperville restaurant.
Abby’s is located in the former Thai restaurant at 11 N. 3rd Street, which has been completely renovated. The restaurant’s warm, welcoming dining room can accommodate 65 guests. “We wanted to keep it small with a personal touch,” says Mondi.
The breakfast menu at Abby’s includes traditional American breakfast items like eggs and pancakes in addition to the chef’s special Breakfast Enchiladas and Waffle Biscuits with Andouille sausage gravy. Abby’s serves fresh ground Kona coffee and delicious melon mimosas to complement your breakfast choices. Breakfast items are available all day.

Freshly made cocktails also offered with their lunch menu.
A kid-friendly menu as well as gluten free options are available for breakfast and lunch. Abby’s also offers catering from both their breakfast and lunch menus.
Although Abby’s Breakfast and Lunch is open until 3:30, they will reopen at 4:30 for private parties or non-profit and school fundraisers.
Unisex waxing spa in Oswego
Waxing the City, a facial and body waxing service for women, men and teens, is coming to Oswego. This store, which is owned by Karen Olsen and her husband Brian, is only the second Waxing the City in Illinois. The Olsens plan to open two more stores in Naperville and the Tri-Cities area in the near future.
“Waxing is a service that many people need,” says Karen Olsen of her decision to purchase the Waxing the City franchise. She was also attracted to the company’s belief in customer and employee satisfaction.
Each customer is given a private consultation before their service. Guests are treated by professional, licensed estheticians in clean, private rooms. “It is a very nice experience,” says Olsen who adds that customers are not rushed in and out, but instead given as much time as they need.
Waxing the City offers a treatment for redness, a telltale sign of waxing. “You can go out in the public when you are done,” says Olsen. In addition to waxing services, Waxing the City also offers eyebrow and eyelash tinting.
First time customers to Waxing the City, located in the Mason Square Plaza in Oswego, will receive 50% off their first service. Combo services will receive the discount on the lower priced item. Offer available with or without coupon.
