At least three people were wounded in separate shootings on the city’s West and South sides Thursday.
Most recently, a 40-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery in the 3700 block of South Vincennes Avenue.
The man was with a 20-year-old woman about 2 a.m. Friday when two gunman approached and announced a robbery, police said.
The 20-year-old woman handed over some possessions, but the 40-year-old refused and was shot in his groin and left knee cap, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized, Gaines said.
About 8 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Austin on the West Side.

The girl was shot after someone in a gray vehicle opened fire in the 5300 block of West Ohio Street, police said. The girl was hit in her shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was listed in good condition.
Thursday afternoon, a 18-year-old man walked into St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Police believe the shooting was self-inflicted and said the shooting happened in the 300 block of West 57th Street in the Englewood neighborhood. Police said the man was not cooperating with detectives and could not provide further details. Officers later determined that the shooting took place about 1:50 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Shields Avenue.
