Two people were injured Wednesday night in Aurora’s 50th shooting of the year, according to police.
Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said three men were standing in a garage around 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Fourth Street when a man dressed in all black walked toward them.
The man was allegedly standing on the sidewalk near the garage when he pulled out a gun and began to shoot.
A 24-year-old man was shot in his thigh. Ferrelli said a 49-year-old man was shot in the hand.
Both injuries were non-life threatening, police said.
After the shooting, the shooter ran southbound on Fourth Street and then eastbound on Spring Street, Ferrelli said. He was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 to 150 pounds.
Anyone with information on the Wednesday shooting is asked to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
There were also two Sunday shootings that left one home damaged, Aurora police said.
The first shooting occurred around 3:45 a.m. Sunday near Wood Street and Solfisburg Avenue, Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.
According to Ferrelli, an officer was on patrol nearby and heard a shot fired. Following the shooting, a vehicle was spotted speeding from the scene.
The officer was able to stop the vehicle in the 900 block of Solfisburg Avenue. Three men inside the vehicle, ages 17, 18 and 21, were all ordered out of the vehicle and questioned by police, Ferrelli said. All three were released without charges.
Police found one spent shell casing in the road on Wood Street across from Wood Street Park, Ferrelli said. Nothing appeared to have been struck during the shooting.
A second shooting occurred around 6 p.m. Sunday and damaged a home in the 500 block of Parker Avenue.
Ferrelli said at least two men were inside a white, four-door sedan that was traveling eastbound on Parker Avenue when someone inside fired multiple shots out a window. No one was injured, but a home was struck.
The car continued eastbound on Parker Avenue, Ferrelli said.
Anyone with information on the Sunday shootings is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
