A Logan Square man accused of pressing his body against three women on CTA trains has been charged in another attack, this one in 2007, after DNA on the fourth woman’s clothing matched his genetic profile, prosecutors said Thursday.
Noor Jalil, 54, was ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail Thursday on sexual abuse charges in connection with the attack July 19, 2007, on a woman who got onto a CTA train at the Clark and Lake station and reported the attack took place near the Armitage Brown Line station, according to court and police records.
Jalil had been free on bond in three similar incidents, two from September 2014 and one from July 2014. He originally was caught after a former co-worker recognized his photo from a police alert and detectives matched his driver’s license photo to surveillance video.

In the 2007 incident, the woman, who was 24 at the time, got onto a crowded “L” train at Clark and Lake about 5:10 p.m. July 19, and soon after felt Jalil pressing against her buttocks, then felt something wet, prosecutors said Thursday. The woman saw Jalil leave the train at the next stop, then get on another train, and she immediately called police to report the incident, prosecutors said.
The woman’s clothing was collected as evidence, prosecutors said.
Jalil was arrested Sept. 8, 2014, in the 2014 incidents. In March, Illinois State Police matched the DNA profile on the clothes of the woman abused in 2007 with Jalil, and on Wednesday, Jalil turned himself in to police, prosecutors said.
Jalil is scheduled for a court hearing May 29 in the 2014 cases.
