This week’s Showcase video is “The Upstairs Concierge,” a new farce by Kristoffer Diaz (“The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity”) at the Goodman Theatre.
Diaz’s comedy takes place in a brand new Chicago hotel meant for celebrities, wherein all the doors are kept unlocked to give the place a homey vibe. This, of course, leads to madcap antics.
In this scene, the overworked upstairs concierge, played by Tawny Newsome, meets a celebrity guest, a YouTube sensation named Rebecca Oaxaca, played by Alejandra Escalante.
“The Upstairs Concierge” plays the Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn St., through April 26.
