Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

So Chicago’s got Rahm Emanuel in the mayor’s office for another four years. Regardless of how you may have voted, he’s going to need a staff.

The Blackhawks roster would be a fine place to start. As illustrated in their 2-1 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday, the mayor could do worse than putting these players in charge of certain jobs.

Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Kris Versteeg: Education

They’re masters at sharing. Case in point: An extended shift in the first period where they dazzled with an array of passes. several of which were of the no-look and between-the-legs variety. Valuable skills indeed.

Kyle Baun: Bruise distribution

The 22-year-old made his Blackhawks debut Tuesday. Although he’s not the fastest guy, but he’s doing his best to lean on defenseman in the crease, which is what that body is built for.

Corey Crawford: Handling rejections

Anytime the mayor’s office needs to tell someone “sorry, but no,” the Hawks goaltender is the man for the job. He made 28 saves, several of them spectacular, though it wasn’t enough seeing as the Blackhawks offense found the net just once.

Minnesota Wild: Enforcing noise laws

If the United Center seemed quieter than usual Tuesday, you can blame the Wild. Their pace of play is always snooze-worthy. Expect them to slow things down EVEN MORE if they meet the Hawks in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Hawks still can win the division if they win their last two games and get help from Central-leading St. Louis, whom they face Thursday night.
