A Yorkville man was killed in a DeKalb County crash Monday after a police chase.
Brian Nord, 35, was pronounced dead on the scene of the afternoon crash.
According to Yorkville police, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was reported stolen around 12:40 p.m. Monday from a parking lot in the 1900 block of Market View Drive. Thirty minutes later, at 1:10 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department deputies got a call about a pickup truck that was swerving and had debris and cargo falling from its bed.
When Hinckley Police Department officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, Nord allegedly sped off. DeKalb County deputies said that during the pursuit, Nord lost control of his vehicle on Route 30, west of the Waterman village limits. He swerved toward a set of railroad tracks, where his vehicle crashed.
