Tiger Woods either practiced at Augusta National on Tuesday, or he pulled off one heck of an April Fool’s Eve joke.

The Augusta Chronicle reported that Woods’ private jet was spotted at an airport near the course, which will host the Masters next week. Woods has not played since bowing out at Torrey Pines after 11 holes Feb. 5, and then taking a leave of absence to rest his back and work on his dreadful short game.

NBC/Golf Channel analysts Brandel Chamblee and Peter Jacobsen both said Tuesday they are “hearing” Woods will enter the Masters.

“For Tiger,” Jacobsen said, “going to Augusta is like going home.”

Jacobsen said that if Woods does attempt to win the Masters for the first time since 2005, it will be a sign that he has “solved” his chipping woes: “I don’t think this is a long-term (problem).”

Chamblee isn’t buying that, saying: “Given what we’ve seen, it’s unimaginable to me that in this short period of time, he would have been able to come to any sort of manageable level of short game. I read where people said it wasn’t the yips. You can call it whatever you want, but what we saw was catastrophically bad. And (Augusta National) is the most difficult place in the world to hit pitch shots.”
