player ready...A familiar figure will take the Navistar Main Stage when Ribfest returns to Naperville’s Knoch Park July 2-5.
The Exchange Club of Naperville announced Wednesday that Sammy Hagar and his new band, The Circle, will be part of the musical lineup for the club’s 28th annual fundraiser. The event through the years has raised more than $14 million to support organizations in Naperville that fight child abuse and other forms of domestic violence.
Also known as The Red Rocker, Hagar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as front man for the rock ensemble Van Halen in 2007. He and his band, scheduled to perform at 8:30 p.m. July 3, will join a Ribfest lineup that so far also includes country acts The Band Perry and Kellie Pickler and Kristian Bush.
The full musical schedule has not yet been announced, but online ticket sales have begun. Information is available at ribfest.net and on Facebook, and a Ribfest app can be downloaded through the iTunes store.
