Christopher Lawson, of the 100 block of North Elmwood, faces multiple counts of criminal sexual assault, home invasion and criminal sexual abuse.
Prosecutors allege he entered the Charles Street home of a 43-year-old woman without permission on Aug. 16, and fondled and had sex while she was unable to give knowing consent. Lawson was arrested in January after Aurora police investigators received forensic evidence from the crime lab. Police said Lawson knew the woman.
The grand jury indictments, issued last week, added the home invasion charges. Lawson’s case was continued until April for him to hire an attorney. He also could be arraigned at that time.
Court records show Lawson with multiple arrests in the last 20 years. He also served prison time for a drug conviction in the late 1990s, records indicate.
