Residents in the Century Farms neighborhood of Naperville got into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit a week before the annual celebration in town with parade of their own.

The event’s organizer, Maureen Barr, said the small-scale gathering, which is growing in popularity ever year, is a way for neighbors to celebrate their Irish heritage. Parade watchers on Naperville’s north side had to put up with piles of snow still on the ground but avoided any snow or rain with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees, according National Weather Service records.

Naperville’s big event is scheduled for Saturday, March 14. Check out Friday’s Naperville Sun for all the details.
