Remember the line around the block when Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams opened in Lakeview in 2013? Get ready for a repeat. Jeni Britton Bauer, founder of the Columbus, Ohio-based gourmet dessert company, is preparing to celebrate the opening of her second Chicago shop in Wicker Park with a free scoop giveaway.
The Wicker Park location of Jeni’s (1505 N. Milwaukee Ave. 872-802-4668) will dole out free scoops during an opening night party from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. The first 50 people in line will also score a free mug.
Like the Lakeview shop (3404 N. Southport Ave. 773-348-7139), the Wicker Park location will sell Jeni’s line of ice creams, frozen yogurts and sorbets by the scoop and pint, plus ice cream sandwiches and coffee from Intelligentsia. Read more about the new location on chicagotribune.com.
