Claiming to have the best pizza in town is not something owner Louie Jankulla of, you guessed it, Louie’s Pizza, takes lightly. Opening his restaurant this past December located off the busy Route 59 on the southwest corner of Diehl Road, Jankulla looks to attract lunch and dinner patrons seven days a week.

Jankulla remodeled the fairly small space that was once the vegan restaurant Two Mothers Food to seat about 20 customers, and also revamped the kitchen space to include the must-have stone oven for authentic pizza making. Pizza, gyros, pasta, sandwiches and salads are all on the menu for casual dine-in, take-out and delivery.

“I bring together Greek and Italian [cuisine],” he said. “Authentic. It is really something different, the taste is real,” promises Jankulla who has been in the pizza business for over 10 years. “Everything is homemade from scratch.”

At Louie’s Pizza customers get to choose from the more authentic Italian thin crust styles, double dough or pan to the popular cheese-stuffed crust, explains Jankulla. The wide array of choices are meant to appease a wide customer base.

Whatever your dough preferences, Jankulla says: “You have to try the Carbonara pizza,” a white sauce specialty pizza topped with bacon and mushroom. Or customers can opt for a regular pizza margherita or explore new tastes with the zebra pizza. Unsure? Most pizzas are also available as a single slice.

An impressive selection of sandwiches, pasta dishes, appetizers and salad round of this small quick-serve restaurant.

Do not miss out on the gyros either. “It’s really Greek,” Jankulla, a Wheaton resident of Greek decent says, paying close attention to finding the most authentic tasting ingredients. “The gyros sauce is all homemade style. Just come and try it,” he said.

New Massage Place

Asian Paradise Spa opened at the corner of Route 59 and Aurora Avenue on Nov. 1, looking to bring a diversified but up-scale massage experience to Naperville.

The original location opened in Vernon Hills close to three years ago. Manager Jim Harms says he is excited to open in Naperville.

“This is a fantastic shopping area,” he says of the highly visible location. “We wanted a place that has a good number of people and a great community.”

The massage place offers a variety of services, including facials and skin care, waxing and an array of massage therapies.

“The Thai yoga massage helps those physically fit, like runners,” Harms describes the assisted yoga massage that focuses on stretching while also massaging sore muscles. Another popular massage treatment is their lymphatic drainage massage that promises to boost the immune system. The popular hot oil, hot stone, deep tissue and Swedish massages are also offered by all certified massage therapists, says Harms.

The soothing color scheme of cream and lilac combined with the Asian decor further underlines the professional feel of the massage place that can even host larger events, Harms emphasizes. “We even get groups of ladies for girls night out,” he says.

With seven large therapy rooms and a few couples rooms Asian Paradise Spa accepts both walk-ins as well as appointments, but Harms suggest calling ahead. Information on pricing and punch card loyalty program can be found at their website at http://www.asianparadisespa.com.
