A Naperville man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a crash involving three cars that occurred near the intersection of North Aurora Road and Route 59 Sunday night.

Jason P. Dale, 44, of the 800 block of Nelli Court, was charged with one count of driving under the influence, one count of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and one count of disobeying a traffic control device, according to Naperville Police Sgt. William Davis.

Davis said on March 1 at about 8:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries at the intersection of North Aurora Road and Route 59. Further investigation revealed that Dale, who was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla, turned left from Route 59 onto eastbound North Aurora Road against the red left turn arrow. He then collided with a Nissan Pathfinder that was going north on Route 59 with a green light and then struck a second vehicle, a 2009 Toyota Camry.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene.

Dale was taken to Edward Hospital for minor injuries and was treated and released. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and released on bond.

The driver of the Pathfinder was also taken to a hospital and was treated for minor injuries and released.
