A 21-year-old man was hospitalized Friday night after he was shot on the Eisenhower Expressway, authorities said.

The man was shot about 7:30 p.m. Friday on the westbound onramp to I-290 at Harlem Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.

The man told police he was the passenger in a car getting on the expressway when someone driving a dark-colored sedan pulled alongside the car and fired shots.

The 21-year-old man was shot once in his leg and was driven to Oak Park Hospital and Illinois State Police were called. The man was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, state police said.
