The fire was raised to a still-and-box alarm, and officials called for an EMS Plan 1 response. Some residents evacuated to the building’s lobby after being prompted by a building loudspeaker, but fire officials at the scene said it was not necessary to evacuate the entire building. The fire was officially struck out about 10:50 p.m.
The cause of the fire hadn’t been determined as of about midnight, officials said. Investigators remained on the scene.
