Aurora police are looking for information about two shootings this week in Aurora.

On Monday, around 7:43 p.m., a 40-year-old Aurora man was shot in the hand while standing on a porch in the 1000 block of North Avenue, Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

According to the victim, a group of men walked past the home he was standing in front of and fired several gunshots in his direction. The victim was shot once in the hand.

Ferrelli said the victim was treated at an Aurora hospital.

A home was also struck by bullets and sustained around $800 in damage Tuesday, Ferrelli said.

On Tuesday, around 11:30 p.m., several gunshots were heard going off near a parking lot in the 200 block of North Gregory Street, Ferrelli said. Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV speeding away from the scene.

The city’s 10-day streak without a shooting came to an end on Feb. 20 when a group of men were gathered in the backyard of a South Lincoln Avenue home when one man pulled out a gun and fired. There were no injuries reported.

Prior to that, there hadn’t been a shooting reported in Aurora since Feb. 9.

Anyone with information about any of these shootings is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
