A 21-year-old Aurora man recently pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint after originally facing charges he sexually assaulted a teenager last year.

Donte Echols was placed on 24 months of sex offender probation and ordered to undergo a sex offender evaluation as part of an agreement with prosecutors reached Feb. 19. Sex assault charges were dismissed.

Echols also received credit for 177 days served in Kane County Jail, according to court documents.

Prosecutors originally alleged Echols pinned the minor female to a bed, prevented her from leaving the room and forcibly had sex with her in August 2014. An indictment added an aggravated criminal sexual assault count which could have made him eligible for an extended prison sentence.

In his plea, Echols admitted to pushing the female onto the bed and holding her down to keep her from exiting the room.

Echols had previous misdemeanor arrests on drug and obstructing identification charges in Kane County, records show.
