
A woman was killed in a traffic crash on the city’s Northwest Side early Sunday.
The crash happened about 2:13 a.m. in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Joanna Balbuena, 28, was driving south when she lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The woman’s car collided with another car just north of Pulaski and West Diversey Avenue.
Balbuena, of the 2800 block of North Hamlin Avenue, was unresponsive and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 2:51 a.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said.
Her death was caused by multiple injuries from the accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
No one else was injured. Police initially said Balbuena was 26 years-old.
The police Major Accidents Unit remained on the scene early Sunday investigating. Further details were not immediately available.
