Billy Metzer is a second generation jeweler. Although he grew up in his parent’s Diamond-Mart jewelry stores, Metzer decided to try another career path and studied business in college. After working in loan sales, Metzer felt the calling to return to jewelry in 2006.
Four years ago, Metzer and his wife, who live in west Aurora, opened The Diamondaire in downtown Naperville. The success of their store prompted the couple to look for a storefront in the Fox Valley area. On Nov. 6, The Diamondaire opened at 117 W. Main Street in St. Charles.
As the name implies, The Diamondaire’s main focus is diamonds. “We specialize in bridal jewelry including engagement, anniversary and wedding rings,” says Metzer, whose wife, Lauren Stallings, designs many of the settings.
If you are looking to update your jewelry collection, The Diamondaire accepts gold jewelry for cash or twice the value in store credit. Well known for their custom work, The Diamondaire can help you create a unique piece that fits your style.
The Diamondaire is a welcoming and comfortable place to shop for all of your jewelry needs, including diamond appraisals and repairs. Clients can enjoy a glass of wine at the store’s mini bar that overlooks the repair area. “We like to keep it casual and relaxed,” says Metzer.
As a way to thank his loyal customers, Metzer offers free ring polishing, sizing, prong repair, and stone tightening. “I have also extended the warranties to all my father’s former Diamond-Mart customers,” says Metzer.
Center for Personal Growth
It was on a walk through downtown Oswego that Heather Denton and her husband, Jeff found the perfect place for their personal coaching center and store. Perfectly, Imperfect Me celebrated their grand opening at 64 N. Main Street in Oswego on Feb. 8.
“We were looking for a place where we could build a conscious community,” says Denton who stresses that the center is open to anyone who is looking for their path.
Perfectly, Imperfect Me is open as a store during the weekdays. They carry items like herbal tinctures, soy candles, jewelry, custom dream catchers and pendant diffusers. “Eighty percent of our products are handmade,” says Denton.

Teen events will be offered this spring. Class schedules can be found on their website or Facebook page.
