And the Oscar for favorite movie of a Blackhawk goes to …
On Sunday, the Blackhawks will likely be resting after a tough afternoon against Boston as the stage will be set in Hollywood for the Academy Awards. Just don’t expect some of the Hawks’ favorite movies to take home hardware.
Bryan Bickell: “Dumb and Dumber”

“The first one. I saw the recent one (‘Dumb and Dumber To’). It was good. They had a couple similar jokes they were trying to make the same way. It was still good. I think I need to watch it about 50 more times like I did the first one.
“There’s so many scenes that you can run through your head. [Former Bruin] Cam Neely is in the movie where he’s like, ‘Who’s the dead man who hit me with the salt shaker?’ Which is kind of funny. Things like that. It’s awesome.”
Brandon Saad: “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”

“I just like everything about it. I think it’s pretty funny.”

Kris Versteeg: “Tin Cup”

“Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy, he tells how it is and it’s just a great sports movie. Cheech [Marin], he’s great in it too. Just the whole cast. I just love ‘Tin Cup,’ pretty much everything about it. ‘Happy Gilmore’ is up there, too.”
Patrick Sharp: “The Big Lebowski”

“I don’t know why. Just kind of cracks me up. Every scene it seems like the more you watch it, the more funny parts you can pick out of it. ‘The dude abides.’ I like that one.”
Andrew Shaw: “The Interview”
Associated Press
“Right now it’s obviously ‘The Interview.’ It was a good movie. I just had to see it because every movie those two guys [Seth Rogen and James Franco] are in together is hilarious. I found it pretty funny.
“Of all time, probably ‘Slap Shot.’ Old classic, watched it growing up. Great, great flick. The old school hockey I guess. The Hanson brothers are always entertaining. Probably could recite that movie line for line.”
