Covering the annual Chicago Auto Show is a little strange.

For the first few media preview days we spend the time darting from unveiling to unveiling, competing with crowd of other photographers and bloggers for a good spot and clean shot of the new automobiles. It’s hectic, but also a little stagnant.

That all changes on the public days when the doors are opened up and the masses welcomed in. Suddenly the brand new vehicles double as jungle gyms (sometimes literally) as children crawl about them, teenagers swoon over them, adults mull over pricing and features, and grandparents scrutinize the safety features.

By far, I enjoy covering the public days more. There’s so many strange juxtapositions to be seen. On Saturday I wandered the massive halls looking for quirky scenes.
