Carnival Cruise Line’s largest cruise ship to date — Carnival Vista — will call Miami its home in November 2016, after a spring launch in Europe, the Miami-based cruise line announced.
Construction of the 133,500-ton vessel is nearing completion at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Delivery date is slated for April 2016.
The 3,954-passenger Carnival Vista will sail on European cruises May through October 2016 before moving to New York for a pair of sailings to the Caribbean, Carnival said. After that, it willl sail an 11-day trip from New York to Miami, Nov. 18-29.

From PortMiami, Carnival Vista’s first departure will be a special four-day cruise to Grand Turk on Nov. 29. It then will begin year-round operations on Dec. 3, sailing six- and eight-day voyages to the Caribbean.
The new cruise ship’s features include tropics-inspired staterooms and suites; SkyRide, a suspended open-air cycling experience; the first IMAX Theatre on a ship; and Kaleid-O-Slide, Carnival’s first water tube slide.
Restaurants include Seafood Shack, Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi and RedFrog Pub, which will feature Carnival’s first onboard brewery.
